	Inhibin, a protein product of the Sertoli cells of the testes and of the ovarian granulosa cells, exerts negative feedback inhibition on FSH secretion. The production of inhibin is stimulated by FSH, indicating the presence of a feedback loop. Immunoreactive inhibin-like activity rises in boys and girls during puberty.
IGF-I rises during puberty to levels higher than ever again achieved in adults; it remains elevated after the time of peak height velocity and then falls to normal adult levels, decreasing further in the elderly.
